- Competition Cars: POLICY -> Summary of Cover
These are the key facts that the Financial services Authority (FSA) has asked us to bring to your attention. These are NOT the full terms and conditions. These are detailed in the Policy Wording. This summary does not form part of your insurance contract.
Name of Insurer:Your policy for car storage and transit insurance is underwritten 100% by Great Lakes UK Plc, Reg. Office: Plantation House, 30 Fenchurch Street, London EC33M 3AJ. FSA No:202715
Type of Insurance and Cover:
This is an annual storage policy designed to provide cover for your competition car(s), engine(s), spares, trailer and ancillary equipment should they be damaged or destroyed as a result of accidental damage fire and theft. The policy is operative whilst the insured items are at the addresses specified by you. An option exists to extend this cover while the insured items are in transit and while also attending a race meeting.
Significant Features and Benefits (what is covered):
Accidental Damage Fire and Theft of the insured items from the specified premises and whilst is storage and transit to and from a race meeting / while attending a race meeting.
The costs of repairing the insured items or, if insurers decide, pay you or the legal owner (should the insured items be subject to hire purchase or lease) an amount in full settlement. Any amount paid cannot be more than the market value at the time of accident / loss and all claims are subject to an excess/deductible as shown on the Confirmation of Cover. In the event the claim is settled as a total loss the insurers have the right to decide to keep the salvage.
Significant and Unusual Exclusions / Limitations:
- Liability in respect of third party property or personal injury.
- Loss or damage arising from the use of property under its own power.
- Infidelity or dishonesty.
- Loss or damage whilst the property is being worked upon.
- Mechanical or electrical derangement or breakdown or damage caused by overheating.
- Wear, tear and gradual deterioration, rust, oxidation, latent defect.
- Mysterious or disappearance or unexplained shortage.
- Mechanical and electrical breakdown/failure whilst been driven or caused by the ingress of water into the properties’ mechanical or electrical components.
- Theft of racewear, tools, spares, tyres or crash helmets, unless contained in a locked motor vehicle, room, cabinet or whilst inside your private residence.
Datatag Warranty
All insured equipment and trailer are to be identified with DATATAG security and identification markings. This must be completed within 21 days of policy inception and the Datatag registration form must be completed and returned to Datatag within this time. Failure to do so will automatically result in all theft cover being suspended until such time all insured equipment has been datatagged and the appropriate registration form returned to Datatag

Duration of Contract:
Your policy is effective for 12 months and is renewable on an annual basis.
Review Your Requirements:
We always recommend that you review your personal circumstances periodically to make sure this insurance is still suitable for you.
Cancellation Rights (Cooling Off Period):
If, having applied for this insurance, you decide that you do not want it after all, simply write to MO.R.I.S within 14 days of receiving your insurance documents and all cover will be cancelled. You will only be entitled to a refund within the cooling-off period on the condition that you have not had any benefit of the policy. This means you have not made a claim or been practicing, testing or racing since your policy started.
How to Claim:
Claims notifications should be made on-line within 48 hours of the accident. Click on "Claims" of the MORIS homepage. Please follow the guidelines outlined in "Instructions" or "Procedure".Should you need to speak to someone please call us on 020 3427 5960. Our office hours are Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm (excluding bank holidays). Compensation Scheme:
Lloyd’s insurers are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the Scheme if a Lloyd’s insurer is unable to meet it’s obligations to you under this contract. If you are entitled to compensation under the Scheme, the level and exten of compensation would depend on the nature of the contract.
