Is there any additional security I can consider?
We are able to supply a Datatag kit for a reduced price of £37.50. This is a very simple, but effective deterrent to thieves and makes the insured equipment identifiable to the police in such a way that it is extremely difficult for the thief to overcome and so his risk level become unacceptably high. Datatag has made a major impact on reducing theft and has a 100% successful prosecution rate. Datatag is Thatcham Q listed and is a winner of International Frontline Award for security. Further details about Datatag can be found when you click on the Storage and Transit menu where you can also make your purchases.

Can I buy the insurance without the Datatag Kit?
Currently you can, although the insurers are reviewing this. If you choose not to have insurance, you can buy a complete Datatag kit from us instead. Simply contact our office for details.

Can my equipment be covered for theft whilst in a trailer?
The basic cover provides for theft whilst at the storage address and from a trailer whilst at a race circuit or traveling to an from. Theft is covered providing it is following a forceable and violent act. Trailers must be immobilised by a wheel clamp and a towing hitch lock.

Can the trailer be covered?
Yes this can be covered whilst being towed and whilst at the race circuit providing a wheel clamp and towing hitch lock are utilised. When not in use, the trailer will be covered whilst at the storage address providing it is either garaged / locked away out of sight or providing a wheel clamp and towing hitch lock are utilised.

Is the car covered for On Track damage.
No.

Is cover available to residents outside the United Kingdom?
Insurance is currently only available to residents of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

If I travel abroad, can I be covered for the duration of the trip?
Yes, but you will need to contact us if you have not declared this.

What happens if the car or equipment is damaged or stolen?
In the event of a theft or attempted theft, you should advise us via the web (refer to "claims"). This must be notified to us within 48 hours. Upon receipt, we will contact you to advise the next step. All theft claims must be reported to the police and a crime reference number will be required. Insurers may wish to appoint a loss adjuster. For more details of the role of an adjuster, click here. In usual circumstances the adjuster will contact you within 5-7 days. He will then make a report to Insurers. If you are simply claiming for fire or accident damage you must ensure we have all details, supporting documentation before we can present to insurers.

Will lost or damaged equipment be replaced by new parts?
The policy is underwritten on an indemnity basis. This means that Insurers may take into consideration age and wear & tear when offering settlement of a claim.

Who are the insurers?
Your policy is underwritten by Templeton Insurance Company, 18-20 Keyside, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 4LE. The Kart Insurance Product is administered by Everitt Boles Limited. MORIS is a trading name of Everitt Boles Ltd.

What are the policy exclusions?
Please refer to the policy wording.

Can I buy a policy for Theft only?
No.

Does the policy cover race suits, leathers, boots and gloves?
Yes. These can be covered as specified items on the Get Quote page.

What is the Duty of Disclosure?
The duty of disclosure under United Kingdom law is a duty to pass on to Underwriters all material information relating to the risk under consideration.

What happens if I/ we need to cancel my policy?
Contact us quoting your policy number and / or booking reference. Providing there are no claims paid, advised or outstanding, you will be entitled to a return of premium. This will be calculated on a pro-rata basis plus 25%.

Can the insurers cancel my policy?
Yes, if for example, you have not complied with any security requirements. In the event of there being no claims paid, advised or outstanding, the return of premium will be calculated on a pro rata basis.
