Templeton Insurance is now part of the Knox D’Arcy Group of companies, which was first established in 1996 and is privately owned. The group’s headquartered in the Isle of Man and it’s principle business comprise of investment, investment management, in the form of The Know D’Arcy Trust Plc., offshore trust and corporate services, management consultancy and general insurance. The business is located principally in the UK, Chile and South Africa and has some one hundred employees.

Underwriting:
The underwriters believe that the key determinant of good underwriting are proper pricing and efficient claims handling. Good claims handling is achieved by the prompt acceptance of valid claims, followed by the energetic management of those claims.
Currently, Templeton Insurance is a niche writer of insurance with a substantial part of it’s business being legal expenses insurance, with most of that business derived from the construction industry. Templeton controls 80% of this niche market and has every expectation of growth. Other lines written include a growing speciality property scheme, residential landlord’s expenses and rent guarantee, intellectual property, facultative, after the event commercial disputes, professional indemnity, warranty, insurance backed guarantees and a variety of small schemes.
